Take ownership

The time is now ladies. We’re living in an incredible era whereby more and more women are having their voices heard. Both urgency and understanding have been given to our opinions and we’re slowly but surely asserting ourselves more and more in executive positions. It is in this era that we need to strike while the iron is hot. Many women before us have paved the way for our generation and generations to come, to take ownership and showcase our voices in the work place. Don’t be afraid, collaborate and communicate with other like-minded women and mentors to further enhance this shift and ultimately move towards increasing our important role in the world and the economy.

Be confident and believe in yourself

Confidence is the foundation from which you take ownership. Confidence has been instrumental to my success in business. I believed I could create the life I wanted for myself, so I went out and conquered it based on this belief. We all have something special and unique to bring to the boardroom table. It’s whether or not we have the confidence to take the step and pursue our dreams and make them a reality. Take small steps every day to build up your confidence and remember, we all deserve to be heard and we all have something to offer this world. Believe it.

Find your voice

Once you have found your confidence, you will most certainly find your voice. We all have important and insightful things to share. Stand tall and be proud of what you have to say and how you engage with people. It’s a story as old as time itself – If you believe in yourself, others will believe in you too. They will take notice and stop and listen to you. Believe in the power of your confidence and voice, it’s incredible what will happen if you just try it.

Don’t take no for answer

Remember that voice you’ve now found from your confidence? Use this to fight for what you believe in, what you stand for and what you can offer others. You will have found your rhythm and can constructively and strategically use this unique rhythm to promote your offering and opinion.

Be kind to yourself

As women, we are often too hard on ourselves. We are wired this way. It is something to delight in and be mindful of at the same time. It is important that, to find balance and lead a positive and meaningful life, we need to be kind to ourselves. We do deserve that job, that promotion, that piece of cake and Saturday afternoon massage from time to time. It is vital that we take the time to do the things we enjoy and provide us with passion. It is often during these times that our creative juices flow and we restore wellness and balance to our lives.
